Eat too much fat for too long?
Your cells freak out.
Not just “put on a few pounds” freak out.
I’m talking enzyme chaos. Blood sugar spikes. Metabolism flatlining like an old laptop in the sun.
That’s what researchers at MIT just confirmed. They fed mice a high-fat diet. The mice got fat (shocker). But under the hood? Things got ugly.
⚙️ Enzymes misfiring.
⚡ Oxidative stress going through the roof.
🧪 Cells couldn’t keep up.
The more fat, the more metabolic damage. Especially in male mice. (Sorry, guys.)
But here’s the twist –
They added a common antioxidant (BHA).
Boom.
Less weight gain.
Better blood sugar.
Lower inflammation.
The antioxidant didn’t make things perfect. But it brought the system back from the edge. Gave the body enough juice to keep functioning.
What does this mean for you?
→ A crappy diet does more than tighten your waistband.
→ It stresses your cells. Slows down your metabolism.
→ And it doesn’t take years. This happens fast.
Now I’m not saying run out and grab antioxidant pills. I’m saying pay attention to what you eat – because your body is.
